My body, by nature of my identity, is politicized. The bodies of those I love are politicized. My work is for us.
These are bodies on the margins. There is beauty to those who do not fit the standard. There is brilliance and resilience in diverse experiences. My paintings create a space to explore these truths in honest, reverent ways.
For those who feel underrepresented or left out, I want them to be able to look at my paintings and say, ‘that’s me!’
